To guide you through this jungle of options in Berlin Mitte, I updated my travel map BertaBerlin with walks through the city and write about my favourite "Top 5 of Berlin Kreuzberg". If you miss a section, drop me a message, I am always open for suggestions. But for now, here are some of my favorite spots in this district. Check out my BertaBerlin map for more tips.
Restaurant Richard
The gourmet restaurant is hiding in a beautiful historical building whose bohemian ambience reminds me of a Parisian brasserie. Richard offers classic French cuisine with a modern interpretation and an excellent selection of wines.
Köpenicker Straße 174, 10997 Berlin (Kreuzberg), www.restaurant-richard.de
Station: U1, U3, Schlesisches Tor, Tue–Sat 19:00–24:00
Angry Chicken
Their fried chicken makes for some of the best wings in town, and the potato hot dog, nestled a deep fried pastry crust, with french fries is highly recommended.
Oranienstraße 16 10999 Berlin (Kreuzberg), www.angry-chicken.com Station: U1, U3
Kottbusser Tor Daily 11:00–23:00
Lausebengel
As you would expect from a ‘food pub‘ (Speisekneipe), there is a large selection of local and international craft beer, handmade and homemade ‘Happen‘ (snacks). Dishes such as black pudding croquettes, mustard egg and potato salad are served next to ‘Stullen‘ (Sandwich).
Grimmstraße 21 10967 Berlin (Kreuzberg), www.lausebengel.berlin
Station: U7 Südstern, Tue–Sat 16:00–23:00
Jolesch
With large artwork on the walls, serving delicious Austrian cusine and pastries, it is one of my favour-ite restaurants. I can recommend the Zwiebelrostbraten and Kaiserschmarrn.
Muskauer Straße 1, 10997 Berlin (Kreuzberg), www.jolesch.de
Station: U1, U3 Görlitzer Bahnhof, Mon–Sat 17:00–22:00, Sun 12:00–22:00
Kimchi Princess
This restaurant has very good service, very kind and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, there's no other restaurant like it in Berlin. Would definitely recommend for someone looking
for great Korean food!
Skalitzer Str. 36, 10999 Berlin (Kreuzberg), www.kimchiprincess.com
Görlitzer Bahnhof, Mon–Sun 16:00–23:00
