Charlottenburg offers some of the cities best food, nightlife and entertainment. As I was scouting locations for my new travel guide in Charlottenburg, I found a lot of gems in this Kiez. So here are my Top 5 activities in Charlottenburg. Little note on the side; if you rent a bike: it's by far the best way to get around.
Berlin's largest palace is breathtaking and a true highlight. Once a royal summer residence, the museums shows you the elegantly staterooms and the rococo ballroom with priceless antique porcelain and tableware. They also offer guided tours and hosts concerts in the ballroom.

The loving restored Zoo Palast reminds with its architecture, atmosphere and service of the Golden Age Cinema. Seven film halls, loge with service, a cloakroom in the lobby, a film lounge and a cocktail espresso bar make a movie night to remember.

This Museum was founded in 1987 and dedicated to the everyday history of Charlottenburg and Berlin in general. It is possible to book guided tours in either English or French.
Housed in the Oppenheim Villa, this charming café offers lovely warm dishes and wonderful cakes. The café is situated beside a small park roughly halfway between Schloß Charlottenburg and Lietzensee on a quiet side street. In the summer you can sit in the sun on their terrasse and enjoy the view.

Housed under three railway arches the real 'author's bookstore' offers a handpicked selection of over 28,000 books including poetry, philosophy, literature and cultural writing. To the shop belongs an adjacent literary cafe, inwhich they host readings as well as lectures.

Bücherbogen provides a lot of storage and attractive display for thousands of international books, magazines, journals, and theoretical writing from art genres to architecture, design, fashion and children's literature. Almost every month they host a book launch or events, so it's always worth checking the website before going.
